Roffey Karate held its largest Black Belt Grading on the 6th of December. We had four students going for 1st Dan and four going for 1st Dan.

The grading took almost four hours and the students were required to show elements from all parts of the syllabus. They also had to show their own defences against knife and stick attacks and present Bunkai (this is the applications within a Kata)
All the students worked tremendously hard and all achieved excellent marks.
So we as a club now have 4 new 2nd Dans Senseis Paul Lucas, Paul Wilkinson, Jake Gallard and Ollie Harris. At 1st Dan the successful students were Christopher Ede, Michael Plater, Kate Wilkinson and Martin Reeves.

With all this expertise within the club we should all expect our standards to rise.
