The annual awards (sponsored by Dorking Service Centre) were given out at a special Tuesday class. Sensei Phil and Sensei Colin taught high katas and students learned either NAIHANCHI (usually a brown belt kata) or JITTE (usually a 3rd Dan Kata) Many students attended the awards classes and hopefully learned something completely new. The atmosphere was excellent with around 50 students attending from all the classes. Awards were given in recognition of the effort students put in and the spirit in which they train. The hard part for the Instructors was choosing students as many of you train very hard. There were some badges given out to those who didn't quite make it for a trophy, but I would like to say that the year has been an excellent one for the club with many successful gradings at all levels, and the Instructors have seen you all improve.
Award winners were: Junior class (5-7years) Connor Sawyer Danielle Littlejohn and Bayley Durrant
Junior Classes 8-13 years Josh Lucas; Jack Harris; Alexander Law; Dominic Kerr; Jamie Robson; Jordan Seabrook The award for Outstanding Junior Student went to James Newell
Senior Class Julie Orgill; Peter Sadler; Michael Plater ; Ollie Harris The award for outstanding Senior student went to John Mathews
There are photos available on the gallery, and if you are interested I have some excellent photos of the award and badge winners and others of the awards evening. Please let me know. Sensei Phil
