'The difference between the possible and the impossible is one's will' - Sensei Hironori Ohtsuka.
SPECIAL COURSE JAPANESE BO (STAFF)
29 APRIL 2006

The special course on the 29th April 2006 proved to be so popular that the venue had to be moved to allow more students to attend. Sensei Paul Fennell took the class through a traditional Okinawan Bo Kata 'Shoshin No Kon' along with some applications. Pictures available in the gallery section.

Over thirty students attended the Bo course and all thoroughly enjoyed the session.
Sensei Paul Fennell took the class through some of the history of the Bo and its origins.
The session consisted of a traditional Bo form from Okinawa ' SHOSHIN NO KON '. Sensei Paul built up through the basic grip and movement of the Bo to some strikes and applications. These were then applied in learning the form.
The concentration of the students who covered an age range from 8 to whatever age I am was rewarded by an enthusiastic and informative lesson from Sensei Paul.

Although not all of us managed to get the whole form in our memory students have been helping each other since the course to try to get the sequences right.

I have already heard from Sensei Paul Fennell and he enjoyed the session as much as we did. He is keen to come back another time to teach us some more applications and perhaps another form.
